Why should you choose the Swire Management Trainee Program? Because the placements are different and diverse. There's an underlying assumption that you can learn and add value to areas in which you may not be an expert. I also love that…

  • I’ve had the opportunity to travel and live in different places, as well as the opportunity to progress quickly by working within different companies in the same organisation
  • Swire is genuinely interested in my career development. At each stage of the program I’ve been asked what is best for me, and the other management trainees, and
  • Swire has sought to provide us with interesting and challenging opportunities The company actually delivers on the promise of putting management trainees in management roles.

  • Coordinated a cross functional team to implement a nationwide compliance project
  • Been leading (with the support of my mentor) a big solar project, including obtaining approval to install $1 million worth of panels; negotiating the contracts with the suppliers; and overseeing the installation of the panels
  • Been involved in writing tenders and reviewing contracts with key clients
  • Been involved in developing a strategic business plan, including analysis, market research and document development.

I’ve relished the large degree of responsibility I’ve been given. In just the last few months I’ve managed a large, national solar project and coordinated strategy.
